We're going Australia~

The same statement posted on FB yesterday evening.
I am so excited about UTM Global Outreach. Previously, i only hear about it since no one seems to be excited over the news.

For Your Information:
In short, UTM Global Outreach Programme (GOP) is a programme that gives students RM1000 each to travel oversea for one to two weeks.
But in actual, in return, you would have to prepare some study/research regarding the visits.

A Malay friend of mine once mentioned that she wants a programme to South Korea. Out of the sudden, we discussed about the matter last evening and I got over-excited about the matter. Prior to the discussion, we were discussing about the failure of Symposium 2010. We put aside the anger and talked about the dream trip.

  1. 6 of us were sitting in front of the office.
  2. NBH is the one who mentioned about she wish to South Korea. She was there too.
  3. 1 Malay boy said he wanna see Kimbum. LOL
  4. 1 Malay girl wants to play with snow.

  • I got too excited...laughing and talking nonsense.
  • My lecturer walked by. Heard our laughter. We told her about travelling oversea under university and she knows Global Outreach. Told her we wanna go South Korean. She laughed and said no good. She suggested Australia. And here we go again. Excited to the max.
We actually had an appointment (not about Global Outreach) with her, waiting for her arrival. Settled all the serious matters with her and we talked about Global Outreach. She agreed to bring us there. And we're happy to have her as your coordinator for the programme as she studied in Australia for a few years before. We shall kick the tour guide aside and have our own doctorate tour guide (truly doctorate as tourism is her expertise). Super excited.

I was 'forced' to prepare the proposal of the programme. *sweat* I have never write any of these in my 20 years of living. This is not the report you send to your teachers for evaluation. It's a programme! The programme director will need to present the proposal to the Faculty Dean and Officer of Student Affairs for Approval.

Should we go Perth or Melbourne? Why Perth/Melbourne? Coz AirAsia only fly there. LOL excluding Gold Coast
Why Perth?
- cheaper air ticket compared to Melbourne (Perth closer to Msia). Save about RM500
Why Melbourne?
- they have Malaysia Hall. Accommodation in Australia is not cheap. To be able to stay in Malaysia Hall can save a lot of money. MH: A$ 4-12, Backpackers hostel: A$ 20+
So wat's the choice? Perth? Melbourne? Please VOTE!

i calculated the budget. It's around RM 45,000 for 13 pax. Around RM3,500 per person. Minus RM1,000 from the programme. Students will pay RM500. Others will be fund by sponsorships. Good?

Forgot to mention one important point. Dr H said, previously, a team gone oversea with flight sponsored by AirAsia. The only condition they need to fulfill is to wear AirAsia's t-shirt. [I want one of those [red] t-shirts and more importantly I want the air tickets]

Btw, I only add in watever came to my mind.
And the proposal's 1st draft is ready! [minus tentative coz i dun know wat to do in Australia]

According to the initial proposal, we're going Australia during the Summer break which is Dec 6-13, 2010.
