Annual Trip: Singapore

This is my third visit to Singapore since 2009. In other words, i've been visiting Singapore annually.
This round, I went to Singapore with a close friend(TraeC) in UTM with a bunch of not-close people.

It was another insane visit to Singapore apart from the previous insane visit last year during CNY. This is another budget holiday. Although with a different geng.
Anyway, we started departing from UTM, Skudai at 6.58am on my watch. (They promised to come within 6.30-7am. Yea...still on time). Then we traveled to the town. Had a few U-turns after getting lost somewhere. (There were constructions everywhere in the town in the effort to ease traffic jams, so the route changes time to time)
We finally stopped at some building. We were not informed of the itinerary. So we dont really know what the guys planned. For breakfast, bak kut teh. I kept quiet when they inform us of the plan. TraeC then shouted, "You guys are daring enough to bring someone from Klang for BKT in JB!". Of course, they didnt know I am from Klang. Totally shocked. The only response is to say "It's ok. No big deal."

KokWei's review of JB BKT:
  1. The restaurant was clean and presentable compared to those in Klang, which can be really dirty.
  2. JB Style BKT tastes light, they do not have the thick herb aroma, the soup is clear (u can see wat's in the soup rather than the Klang BKT where u have to stir, toss, wat-so-ever to pick your food)
  3. Things are different here. They dont serve BKT in claypot. They serve them in bowl. Meaning everyone gets the same potion of BKT.
  4. And they're very healthy. Not fatty pork served. (We requested for non-fatty pork. The waitress said they dont serve fatty pork.)
  5. And as for tea, Klang BKT style is on self-service but not in JB. They do not place boiling-hot kettles everywhere. Just request for whenever you wanna add water to your teapot. They'll serve u
Overall, I love Klang's BKT.
We finished our breakfast by 8.15am. Then, we headed to CIQ and the journey begun.
At Johor Checkpoint, take bus number 170 (SBS) or CW1 (causeway-link) to Kranji MRT.
Get yourself a Ez-link card at the MRT to save traveling expenses. Traveling with Ez-link is slightly cheaper than usual price.
Our 1st stop, Bugis

This is where we spotted SingTel offering cheap Iphone4 in Singapore.

 one of the many temples

Next stop: Chinatown

I always go Chinatown on every visit. However, this is my first time exploring the upper decks of the temple. Indeed, an interesting visit. Moreover, it's free admission!

Then, Marina Bay Sands! Woohoo~
We walked most of the time...we sat wherever there's a bench...

Ahhh...some funny things happened here. I'm lazy to repeat. Check out the story at sayrachel.blogspot.com and simply compile the story. :)
A short stop at Orchard Road. Then, we said goodbye to Singapore. A truly tiring journey, upon exiting Spore. The journey didnt end. We headed to some place near Taman Pelangi for dinner. However, the said eating place was no longer around. So, we headed to some hawker stall nearby and found some pasar malam. My first pasar malam visit in JB after so long. :P
Anyway, didnt really attracted to the food sold. I ended up with a drink and some slices of fried chicken for the night.
By the time I reach my room, it was 10.30pm. Cleaned up and settled down. Ahhh...time to go bed...
